Another beautiful day in Tahoe! I spent the day in Blackwood Canyon, a favorite spot of mine in the Fall for the turning Aspens. I painted two, but the first I’m not sure about, so I’ll hold for now.

Lookin’ good Ed! I like that the boulders actually look like they’re half buried, and not just sittin on the surface! Sounds like you’re having a good time at the event too~
Hi Ed,
There’s a beautiful calm austerity to this one. No brush mark seems un-necessary. It’s understated economy gives it strength.
Maybe after all that swash buckling with palette knives, a pleasure to spread paint smoothly with a brush.
bravo!
I love it, “swash buckling with palette knives” 🙂 I have been having too much fun, although I’m glad this week is over. I don’t like the pressure of plein air events/competitions. Back to regular pace for me.
Great job, Ed. I really like the way you framed the view — really works.
Mike
I love the mysterious look of the dark forest, Ed. Good stuff!
