I’m mixing things up a bit by painting the figure occasionally now. I need to find some models, or a group of artists to paint with. Most of the group’s I’ve found are the traditional drawing sessions, with lots of short poses, followed by 20 minute long poses. I need longer than that to paint!
Since I didn’t have a model for this, I found this image by Fred Goudin to paint from. Enjoy!

Please let us know if you find a good group for figure painting in the area. I would be interested, too.
I currently attend a kind of weekly figure painting workshop (nudes), i.e. with some (rather minimalistic) instruction attached, in SF. It’s three-hours sessions, usually three or two such sessions per pose/model. Costs about $400 per semester. In case you might be interested, it’s here: http://www.larryrobinson.net (but he doesn’t offer this class in summer, only for fall and winter semesters).
Thanks, Lena, good tip. That’s at least closer to what I’m looking for (long poses). I don’t mind the “not in summer” thing, because I like to paint plein air in summer anyway.
Cheers!
Wow, beautifully done. Wonderful painting.
