The trees are in bloom in San Francisco! I think we had a false Spring, lots of warm weather the past few weeks, but the rains have returned. I went to Stowe Lake again in Golden Gate Park with the intention of painting the Cherry blossoms and the Golden Gate Peace Pavilion, a building I’ve painted many times (1, 2, 3, 4), but the light in this direction really struck me.
Enjoy!
Very nice painting – fresh and lively. I like the colour harmony in the blossoms and path, and how you simplified a complex subject.
Thanks, Kerch, for your comment about simplifying the scene. That’s something I’m working on. It’s so important to developing a strong composition.
This painting has great visual impact – strong design, brushwork and use of color. Love it!
